Easter Picnic.....

Here we are at my dad & brother's company easter picnic. This was the weekend before Easter at a local park. The kids played games, hunted for eggs, took pictures with the Easter bunny and ate lots of Easter candy. Garrett and Marissa participated in a bubble relay race. Garrett came in first place in his heat. He took 2nd place in the final heat.

Here are also a couple of pics I tried to take of the boys with the big stuffed bunny. Jake was not cooperating but you get the idea. The bunny is Grandma's and every Easter she takes it out of storage for the kids to play with.

Haircut for Jake....

These are pics of Jake's 2nd professional haircut. I'm not sure why, but I didn't think to take pictures of his first professional cut. I think because it was right before his first birthday party and I was running around trying to get things done and Aaron took him by himself.

This time we all went to try to keep Jake calm. He was pretty fussy and antsy and the only way to keep him calm was to give him candy and sing to him. This is the haircutting place down the street from our house and Aaron and I have been going there since we moved into our house 7 years ago. This is where Garrett got his first haircut and this is where the boys will go until they are grown.

Another Park.....

I know you are getting tired of seeing all the parks we visit but I just can't help taking pics of the kids playing.

This park was really cool. We heard about it from a neighbor who had taken her grandson. It had tons of stuff to play on and a gated duck pond. It had lots of open space and grass for the kids to run around on.

The kids loved it and Garrett always talks about it. He says, "Remember the big park we went to? Let's go there again."

Work of Art.....

Here's a pic of Garrett showing off a mask he made at preschool. I have a whole cabinet full of Garrett's artwork. I can't bare to throw any of it away. I wish I had an extra room to hang all of the artwork in.

I read an article online one day about a mom who was talking about her child's artwork. She said that she finally had to throw some of the artwork away because she didn't have any more room. She said that she felt like a piece of her heart died whenever she threw a piece of the artwork away. That made me cry!

I'm gonna try and not throw any of it away but I'm not sure where I'm gonna put it all!

Jake at 18 Months Old.....

These pictures were taken of Jake when he was 18 months old. Keep in mind, this was 3 months ago. The time is flying by. I realize I am a little behind in posting current photos but I want you to see all the pics I have taken of the kids. I don't want you to miss anything. As I post these pictures, Jake is now 21 months old. He is almost 2 years old!

Who do you think Jake looks like? Look really close. I see Aaron. Don't let the dark hair and dark eyes fool you. We get told that Jake looks like Garrett or Mommy but if you REALLY look at him, he looks like Aaron. Ok, maybe he does look a little like Mommy:)

More Park Pictures......

As you can tell from our blog, the kids pastime consists mostly of going to the park. We know where every park is located in town and when we find a new one, we get so excited. The kids love exploring new parks and playing on the new equipment. We go to the park at least 2 times a week if not more. Now that the weather is getting hotter we won't be going as often because the park equipment gets too hot!

I'm not sure if I ever mentioned this but Garrett is slightly afraid of heights. When he climbs on the equipment he gets a little nervous and sometimes sits or crawls on his knees. It's funny to see Jake running past Garrett while Garrett is crawling on his hands and knees over a bridge on the playground.

Vegas Trip.....

Aaron and I went to Las Vegas in March for 3 days without the kids. It was a nice little vacation for just the 2 of us. We stayed at the Venetian which was really nice.

These pics are of our visit to the Rio Voo Doo Lounge which is 50 stories high and outside. It was really cool to see the Las Vegas Skyline all lit up from so high above. Of course we had to try their signature drink, "Witches Brew". The bartendar put 6 straws in the drink because it's strong enough for 6 people but there was only 2 of us. So we had to finish it all by ourselves.

We had a great time and we can't wait to go back!

Birthday Loot......

Here are some pics of Garrett playing with some of his birthday presents after his big party. Unfortunately, I don't have any pics on my camera of his big birthday party at "pump it up" because my batteries died and I didn't bring extra ones. I was devastated but my dad took pics with his camera so at least I will have something to look at. He had a great time at "pump it up" with all his preschool friends. He still talks about it even today. His best buddies, Tobias & Ryan came and that made Garrett's day. It was like Christmas all over again with all the goodies Garrett got for his birthday.

Kicking Back In The Car....

We were driving home after a long day out and we noticed that Jake was unusually quiet. Jake is never quiet in the car unless he is dead tired. When I looked behind my seat to see what he was doing, this is how I found him. He had his hands behind his back in "relaxed mode". I've never seen a one year old relax like that. Ever since I found him in that relaxed pose, I notice that he does it a lot when he's ready to sleep. I guess it's his way of kicking back and unwinding from a long day's work.

More Sweets For The Birthday Boy.....

I just realized that Garrett had ice cream 3 times on his birthday! Here we are at home with our family celebrating with a Spiderman ice cream cake (Garrett picked it out). The picture of him on the phone is him talking to Tia Gina (she wasn't able to make it on Wednesday). I love the picture of him trying to blow out his candles. He doesn't quite have down the science of blowing out the candles, but boy did he try.

Celebrating 4 With More Ice Cream.....

Garrett's birthday was on a Wednesday and his actual birthday party with his friends was on the following Saturday. We still celebrated on Wednesday with family. We took him to dinner and he got his very own birthday sundae. We had the employees sing "Happy Birthday" to him as a surprise. He was a little embarrassed at first but then he got a kick out of it. The look on his face was priceless.
