The Beach....continued

More pics from our trip to the beach. I forgot that we had planned on staying the night at a hotel near the beach. We checked into the room and everything. We went to dinner and got ready for bed. Well, Jake had other plans. He did NOT want to go to bed. He was bouncing off the walls. He would NOT sit still for a minute.

Aaron and I were really tired and we joked about just driving home. When we couldn't stand it anymore, we packed up and left. We ended up driving home that night and of course Jake slept all the way home. It WAS nice to wake up in our own bed.

07/07/07

This is how we spent 07/07/07. We went to one of our favorite beaches with the kids. This was Jake's and Marissa's first time at the beach. (Garrett visited the beach twice before).

It was a beautiful day, overcast for most of the day. The sun ended up coming out for a little bit. It wasn't too cold and it wasn't too hot. The kids loved running away from the water and digging in the sand. We all relaxed a little and ate snacks and played with the kids.

4th of July ~ 2007 Continued

More pics from 4th of July. We always try to take posed pictures of the kids with little flags. We also try to take a family picture every year. We don't look the best but who cares? Here are this year's pics.

The kids did pretty good with the fireworks. Jake was a little scared but he didn't mind sitting near the action. Marissa and Garrett were a little leery and decided to spend most of the night a little further back on the lawn. Jake was comforted by Grandma for a portion of the night. We all had a great time.

4th of July ~ 2007

Here is our 2007 4 th of July. We spent the afternoon with family swimming, eating, and playing games. It was hot but not so hot that we couldn't stand to be outside. We were able to enjoy the pool and some popsicles and each other's company.

Mini Reunion.....

This past summer I was fortunate enough to host 5 of my highschool girlfriends plus their husbands and kids for a mini reunion. The six of us haven't been all together since highschool and that was 15 years ago. Five of us still live in town but we don't see each other very often. The other friend lives in Oregon but her family still lives in town so she comes to visit once in a while.

When we found out our Oregon friend was coming to town, we decided to try to get everyone together. Amazingly it worked out for everyone. It was great for all of us to be together and to have all of our kids meet each other. We ate and swam and visited and we all had a great time. I hope this becomes a summer tradition for the years to come.
