Garrett's 5th Birthday Party (part 2).....

For Garrett's Birthday dinner, we ended up going to Home Town Buffet because it's just easier with kids. We don't have to wait for our food, we can just get up and eat. We also got a visit from the Home Town Bee.

After dinner, we headed to Toys R Us because we are official members of Geoffrey's Birthday Club. If you are a member of this "exclusive" club, you get to walk around Toys R Us with a special hat and balloon and get your name announced over the loud speaker. It's quite entertaining when you are 5 years old.

After the toy store we came back to our house for cake, icecream, games and presents. Garrett also got a special phone call from Tia Gina since she wasn't able to make it to town on a Thursday. Overall, he had a fantastic day!

Garrett Turns 5.....

Garrett's 5th Birthday was February 21st, 2008. He woke up to a dining room decorated in "Thomas the Train" motif, which he loved at the time. He was so excited that there were streamers and balloons all over the dining and living rooms. Aaron and I decorated the house the night before so Garrett could be surprised.

I will never forget how happy he was all day long. His birthday fell on a Thursday so I had to go to work for a little bit. I left at lunch to pick him up at preschool and we came home and spent the afternoon together. We played legos and colored. It was true quality time with my little guy and he loved it. We waited for Aaron and Jake to come home and then we all went out to dinner to celebrate with the rest of the family.

Valentine's Day 2008....

Here are a couple of pictures from Valentine's Day 2008. Growing up, my parents always made Valentines day special for us. We always got some kind of "treat" that day. It was usually candy, See's Candy, and I always looked forward to that day.

I try to make Valentine's Day special for the boys and Marissa too. I know it doesn't mean much to them now, but I hope when they are adults, they will remember this day being made special for them too.

P.S. It's fun writing about this day almost a year later....look at Jake. He still looks "babyish". Marissa looks a lot younger too. They change so much. This is also a good reminder NOT to cut Jake's hair so short :)
