Bob The Builder.....

Here's a picture of the boys from June. They love playing with their pretend tools and dressing up like "Bob The Builder." They each have a tool belt and of course when Garrett puts his on, Jake has to have his on too.

P.S. Don't mind Jake's slight drooling problem. I just recently found out that this is hereditary, my dad used to drool when he was a toddler all the time. We go through at least 3 shirts a day with Jake. Garrett never used to drool like this.

Garrett's Last Lesson....

Here is Garrett at the last lesson of his first session. He actually took 3 different sessions and he passed each one with flying colors. We were very happy with the outcome of the lessons. He's not an expert swimmer yet but he knows the basics and we know he will grow and learn even more next summer.

Jake's Last Swim Lesson....

Here are some pictures of Jake's last swim lesson. He had 8 lessons total. I think I mentioned earlier that although he enjoyed the lessons, you wouldn't guess it from the way he screamed and splashed THE WHOLE TIME. Yes, it was a little stressful for Mom but we made it. I can't wait until next summer! (yes, I can).

Swimsuits and Ice Cream....

These pictures were also taken on Father's Day. The kids got into their swimsuits to play in the sprinklers and then they had ice cream cones. I bought Marissa the sparkly swimsuit (I couldn't resist). Here she is modeling it.

Father's Day Continued....

Here are a couple of more pictures of the kids on Father's day. They just love Lita & Lito's back yard. They also love sitting and swinging on the bench.

Father's Day 2007....

We celebrated Father's Day going to brunch with the family and then going to my parent's house in the evening for a barbecue. We ate a lot of food that day. It was nice being with family but it made for a very long day for the kids (and for us!). Here are some pics of the families and the 3 dads.

Garrett's Mater Cookie....

Aaron and I went to lunch one day at a local bakery and of course we couldn't avoid browsing the baked goods. As soon as we saw the mater cookie, we both looked at each other and said "we gotta buy that cookie for Garrett". I think I've mentioned before that he is obsessed with anything Disney Pixar Cars related. He was so excited when he saw the cookie. He even shared with Jake because he was so happy.

Garrett's First Day of Swim Lessons....

Here is Garrett at his first swim lesson this past summer. This was his second year swim lessons yet it was a completely different experience. His first year consisted of one on one lessons with a great teacher, but he was always terrified. This year, the lessons involved 4 kids and one equally great teacher.

The first lesson was a little trying because he didn't know what to expect so he was very cautious about trying anything. Once we had a talk at home, he understood that he needed to try different things and do what the teacher said and swim and learn with the other kids. He ended up being the best swimmer in his class and he enjoyed it!

Jake's First Swim Lessons.....

We signed both of the boys up for swim lessons this past summer at our local high school. These are pics of Jake's first lesson. He wasn't really afraid of the water but he didn't like the conformity of the swim session.

It was a Mommy & Me class and we sang songs and practiced floating, dunking, blowing bubbles, jumping in, etc. He did a lot of screaming because he would have much rather been doing his own thing.

I was crazy to think that I would keep my hair dry by putting it up in a hairclip. He was splashing a million splashes per minute. All in all we enjoyed the sessions and they really helped him to get familiar with the basics of pool time. By the end of the summer he was pretty much wiggling around in the water by himself (under the close supervision of mommy & daddy).
